Anaheim man seen kicking dog arrested, dog found safe

ANAHEIM, Calif. (KNX) – The man seen punching and kicking a dog in a viral video turned himself in early Thursday morning, Anaheim Police said.

Albert Frank Abad Jr, 33, was arrested on suspicion of felony animal cruelty, Anaheim police Sgt. Shane Carringer told City News Service.

Police said around 9 p.m. Wednesday, Abad surrendered the dog to Center Sinai Animal Hospital. The staff then called police.

Detectives recovered the black Labradoodle believed to be the dog in the video. The dog, named Steeler, will be taken to Orange County Animal Care for further examination.

The video was posted on Ring Neighbor on Sept. 15 and has since gone viral.
