BERRIEN COUNTY, MI – A motorcyclist and car driver suffered serious injuries Wednesday, Sept. 21, in a collision, sheriff’s deputies said.

The crash was reported at 6:43 p.m. in Berrien County’s Watervliet Township.

The motorcyclist, a 45-year-old Watervliet man, was riding his Harley-Davidson east on Hagar Shore Road when a 67-year-old Kalamazoo woman, driving a Kia Soul north on County Line Road, failed to stop for a stop sign, police said.

The motorcycle crashed into the Kia when it entered the intersection.

The motorcyclist was thrown into a field after impact. The Kia left the road, rolled and came to a stop upside down in a ditch.

The sheriff’s Accident Investigation Unit responded because of the serious injuries to those involved in the crash.

The motorcyclist and car driver were taken to Bronson Methodist Hospital.
