The Wallace Cross Country athletes had a good showing at the Cross Country Invite held at the Arapahoe Municipal Golf Course on Thursday, Sept. 15.

None of the Wallace runners set personal records due to the difficulty of the course, however, all the women beat their times from last year on the same course.

Ashley Robertson came in first with a time of 23:07, beating her last year’s time of 24:34. Ryleigh Hanson earned fifth place with a time of 23:58, beating her last years’ time of 26:09. Dajana Garrison earned seventh place with a time of 24:29, bettering her last year’s time of 29:01.

The women’s team earned the first-place plaque with a score of 11. Cambridge was second with a score of 14 and Hi-Line was third with a score of 28.

During the men’s race we were treated to a rare sight with Trey Robertson running ahead of the pace golf cart. He finished first with a time of 18:02. He was just short of a minute ahead of the second place runner, Kael Garrett of Medicine Valley, who came in with a time of 19:00. Ryun Sheets ran with a time of 23:31 for 33rd place.

A. Robertson was honored as female athlete of the week on RPAC Rundown. T. Robertson shared athlete of the week honors with Maywood-Hayes Center’s Hayden Kramer for his efforts in the MHC football win over Silver Creek.
