Cominsky underwent thumb surgery Tuesday on his right thumb and is expected to miss multiple weeks, Kyle Meinke of MLive.com reports.
Cominsky was listed as a non-participant at Wednesday's practice due to a wrist injury, but recovering from the thumb procedure will now be his top concern. The Lions aren't yet placing him on injured reserve, so the 26-year-old defensive lineman may miss fewer than four games.
