One small Visit is based on a true story by a local filmmaker that has won a top prize for short film and qualified for Oscar contention.
Film producer Dr. Anisha Abraham is from Chevy Chase, Md., she wrote this film about her family's immigrant story to the United States and a very special meeting in 1969.
The movie is about connection and follows the Indian American family as they pass by the small hometown of Neil Armstrong, the first man on the moon.
The film has already gotten great praise, winning best foreign picture at the LA Shorts Film Festival, and has qualified for Oscar contention. A screening is scheduled at NASA headquarters on Thursday. NASA also connected the filmmakers with Mark Armstrong, Neil’s younger son.
