Kentucky native and actor Johnny Depp will join multi-Grammy Award winner Jeff Beck for the majority of the legendary guitarist's North American tour, including a concert at Louisville's Palace Theater, 625 South Fourth St., on Saturday, Oct. 22, at 8 p.m.

The creative duo share a close bond and over the years has collaborated on multiple musical projects. In 2020, Depp and Beck released a cover of John Lennon‘s "Isolation," marking their first official release together. This summer the pair released its joint album, "18," which includes mostly cover songs and a couple of original Depp compositions.

Since the 13-track album's release on July 15, the duo has put out several album cuts as singles including "This Is A Song For Miss Hedy Lamarr," an homage to the actress/inventor. Also a cover of The Beach Boys' "Caroline, No," Killing Joke's "The Death and Resurrection Show" and The Velvet Underground's "Venus in Furs."

On one of the Depp originals, the actor was accused of lifting lyrics from an old poem titled “Hobo Ben.” The record label responded by stating, “If appropriate, additional copyright credits will be added to all forms of the album.”

Earlier this year Depp and Beck played a few UK and European dates together performing covers of Lennon, Marvin Gaye and Jimi Hendrix. The concerts included a couple of shows while a jury was deliberating Depp's defamation case against ex-wife, actress Amber Heard.

Depp, who is listed as a Kentucky Colonel, was born in Owensboro, Kentucky in 1963. The "Pirates of the Caribbean" actor bought a 41-acre horse farm for his mom, Betty Sue Palmer, in Lexington in 2005 and later put the property up for sale. Palmer died in 2015.
