LOS ANGELES (KNX) – A child sexual abuse lawsuit against comedians Tiffany Haddish and Aries Spears has been dropped, according to TMZ.

The woman, identified as Jane Doe, who filed the lawsuit asked that the case be dismissed with prejudice. Her request was granted.

“My family and I have known Tiffany Haddish for many years – and we now know that she would never harm me or my brother or help anyone else do anything that could harm us,” the woman said in a statement to TMZ. “We wish Tiffany the best and are glad that we can all put this behind us."

A lawsuit was filed on Aug. 30 against Haddish and Spears in which the two comedians were accused of asking Jane Doe and her brother to perform suggestive acts on camera in 2013 when Doe and her brother were minors. The siblings said Haddish, who was friends with their mother, told their mother she was taking them to film something for Nickelodeon.

The sketch was called “The Mind of a Pedophile” and featured Spears as a pedophile lusting after a child (portrayed by Doe’s brother), according to The Daily Beast. Doe said she was told to make noises and perform suggestive acts while eating a sandwich in a separate sketch.

On Sept. 5, Haddish said in a statement on Instagram, “while this sketch was intended to be comedic, it wasn't funny at all – and I deeply regret having agreed to act in it.”

On his podcast Spears & Steinberg, Spears spoke about the lawsuit, adding that it could end his career.

“I already felt like my career was over. Before all this. I thought I was blackballed and my s**t was over, but I always said, I felt like I was one thing away from the turnaround, but now with this, I’m almost certain that tombstone is written,” he said.
