On the evening of September 15th, Officers responded to the Bothwell Regional Health Center, 601 East 14th Street, for a report of a hit and run accident. Officers made contact with the victim, who stated another vehicle backed into her vehicle and left the scene without exchanging information. Officers were able to identify the other vehicle. Shaun C. Webb, 52, of Sedalia, was arrested for Leaving the Scene of an Accident and transported to the Pettis County Jail to be booked and released.


 

Officers conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle near the intersection of West 4th Street and South Kentucky Avenue Monday night. The driver was found to have an extraditable warrant out of Johnson County for Failure to Appear on original charges of Driving While Revoked. Ansley Eugene Sims, 18, of Columbia, was arrested and transported to the Pettis County Jail where they were booked in pending a bond of $500 cash or surety.


 

Monday night, Officers conducted a traffic stop near the intersection of West 32nd Street and South Grand Avenue. The driver and passenger were identified. A probable cause search was conducted. A controlled substance and drug paraphernalia were found inside the vehicle. Both the driver and the passenger were arrested. Julie Marie Dickinson, 44, and Mark Adrian Green, 43, both of Columbia, were arrested for Possession of a Controlled Substance and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia. Both Dickinson and Green were placed on a 24 hour hold pending charges.

Sedalia Police were dispatched to the Probation and Parole Office, 205 Thompson Avenue Monday afternoon in reference to a warrant check. A client at the office had an active warrant from Johnson County for Non Support. When the warrant was confirmed active, Cornell E. Staten, 37, of Sedalia, was arrested and transported to the Pettis County Jail. Bond was set at $1500 cash only.


 

Monday morning, Officers took a report in reference to a theft that occurred in the 100 block of West 6th Street. Florence Hayworth stated she gave a ride home to a woman and while she was out of the car, the woman stole money from her wallet. The money has not been recovered.


 

Officers took a report in the Police Department lobby Monday afternoon in reference to fraud. Allison Eichhorn stated a house was online for rent that she paid to hold. Upon arrival, the owner of the home informed her it was a scam. No suspects have been identified at this time.


 

Monday morning, Officers took a report of theft in the Police Department Lobby. Caroline Jarvis stated her juvenile son stole money from her purse sometime through the night in the 1800 block of East Broadway Boulevard. The money was recovered by the juvenile's school.


 

Sedalia Police responded to the 400 block of South Ohio Avenue Monday morning in reference to a theft. On arrival, Officers met with the unnamed victim. They had fallen prey to an internet scam. The thieves were able to compromise the victim's checking account and steal money from it. At the time of the report, the suspect has not been identified.


 

Monday morning, an Officer was dispatched to the lobby of the Police Department in reference to a theft report. Roger L. Davis stated he received a fraud alert form his credit card company. Several fraudulent purchases were made online.


 

On the afternoon of September 15th, Officers were dispatched to the 700 block of North Prospect for an assist agency call. Upon arrival, Officers made contact with an employee of the Division of Family Services. The employee spoke with a juvenile on scene about a possible sex crime that happened three years ago. It was decided the juvenile would go speak with Child Safe for a further interview.
