Police investigating two latest homicides in City of OKC

OKLAHOMA CITY (Free Press) — Police are investigating what they believe to be two different homicides, one on the north side and the other on the south side.

Bodies were discovered Monday morning within a two-hour period in a condition “consistent with homicide” said Sgt. Dillon Quirk with the Oklahoma City Police Department (OKCPD).

Homicide #55

Monday at 8:39 a.m. OKCPD officers were sent on a “check welfare” call to 2025 NW 26th St. just to the east of Pennsylvania half-way between N.W. 23rd and N.W. 30th in the Shepherd neighborhood.

When they entered the apartment they discovered 53-year-old Jason Toland dead with injuries consistent with homicide.

Quirk said the investigation is in its early stages with no arrests made.

Homicide #56

Just a little over an hour later Monday, at 9:54 a.m., OKCPD officers were sent on a check welfare call to 4221 S.E. 54th in the first block west of Sunnylane Road in the Highland Park neighborhood.

An employee at the apartment complex had called 911 when they found a body inside a vacant apartment.

Once they arrived, police found 26-year-old Dwayne Mack dead from injuries consistent with homicide.

This investigation is also in its early stages with no arrests having been made.
