During the Neshaminy school board meeting earlier this month, Superintendent Dr. Rob McGee announced that school director Stephen Linden is resigning.

Linden was appointed on May 10 to fill the Region 1 seat of Stephen Pirritano, who resigned after serving since October 2013.

Board president Tina Hollenbach explained that Linden had to unexpectedly move out of the district and he had no choice but to resign. He was a 35-year resident of Lower Southampton with five children, nine grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

“He did not want to resign. He was very much enjoying his tenure on the board and very much looked forward to finishing out the term,” she said.

The board is accepting letters of interest and resumes through Tuesday, Oct. 4, at 5 p.m. These documents can be mailed to Neshaminy School District’s Superintendent’s Office, Attn: Board President, ℅ Board Secretary, 2250 Langhorne-Yardley Road, Langhorne, PA 19047. They can also be hand-delivered to the office by this deadline.

Applicants must be residents of Region 1, which covers Lower Southampton and a portion of Langhorne. No email applications will be accepted.

The new board member’s appointment is scheduled to take place during the public board meeting on Oct. 11, at 7 p.m. at Maple Point.
