MCKEE, Ky. (FOX 56) – Kentucky State Police have arrested a man in connection with a shooting over the weekend in Jackson County.

Authorities were called before 5 p.m. Sunday to investigate a shooting outside a home.

In a news release, police said a McKee man was shot and killed during a fight at a home on Kentucky Highway 3445.

The Jackson County Coroner pronounced 42-year-old Billy R. Isaacs, of McKee, dead at the scene.

On Monday, police arrested 54-year-old Ricky G. McQueen, of McKee, and charged him with murder. McQueen was booked into the Jackson County Detention Center.

Isaacs’ two sisters spoke with FOX 56 about their brother.

“He loved the kids,” said Amanda Johnson. “When he showed up, he’d go to their rooms and check out things with them. Let them show him everything.”

The sisters said they spoke to state police for the first time on Monday.

“I kept calling him, even after everybody had already talked about it. I called until I went to sleep last night,” Johnson said.

The sisters told FOX 56 that Isaacs and McQueen knew each other.

Isaacs’ visitation is set for 6 p.m. Friday and his funeral is set for 1 p.m. Saturday at the Lakes Funeral Home at 1181 Main Street.
