Vehicle 1, a Polk County School bus, was traveling eastbound on Holly Hill Cut-Off Road. Vehicle 2 was traveling southbound on US-27. At the intersection, Vehicle 1 turned left into the path of Vehicle 2; as a result, the front of the sedan struck the left rear of the bus. There were no children aboard the bus.
PCFR Responds to School Bus Crash on Winter Lake Rd
At 7:38 a.m. this morning, Polk County Fire Rescue (PCFR) and Polk County Sheriff’s Office were dispatched to a crash involving a school bus vs. vehicle at the Winter Lake Rd / Bradbury Road intersection in Winter Haven.
Upon PCFR’s arrival, one individual was transported with non-life-threatening injuries to a local hospital. Polk County Sheriff’s Office will be investigating. Any questions regarding the school bus and its riders should be directed to Polk County Public Schools.
