Firefighters Battle Sun Valley Greater Alarm Structure Fire

Sun Valley, Los Angeles, CA: Los Angeles Fire Department personnel were on the scene of a commercial structure fire of greater alarm status around 7:35 p.m. Sunday, Sept. 18, on the 8500 block of North San Fernando Road in the Sun Valley neighborhood of Los Angeles in the San Fernando Valley region.

Arriving crews found a 20′ x 40′ one-story commercial building with moderate to heavy smoke showing.

LAFD reported that it took 71 firefighters 29 minutes to access, confine and fully extinguish heavy fire in the attic and stubborn flames within a well secured free-standing, one-story commercial building that was structurally compromised by the blaze.

No injuries were reported. The cause of the fire is under active investigation.
