LOOMIS, Neb. (KSNB) - Jasmine Ellsworth went into her sixth grade school year, only to face bullies. Instead of letting the adversity keep her down, she started to help others.

Jasmine, now a sophomore at Loomis High School, gave kids in her same position a way to talk about what is going on in their lives. She also is active in pageants. Despite the pain they inflicted Jasmine has this to say about her bullies.

“I have actually been congratulated by several people who did pick on me when I was in sixth grade, and I am a friend to them, I will show them a different way because usually when people are bullies there is something going on where they are bullied and I think that’s the biggest message there is that you know you can’t always look at them as a bully because they might be getting bullied and taking it out on you,” Jasmine Ellsworth said.

Jasmine’s mom, Sherri Ellsworth, said her daughter is a special teen.

“She’s got a really tender and I think that’s some of the things that people or bullies look at,” Sherri Ellsworth said. “They find somebody who is vulnerable and pick on them so she has taken that and made it very positive and done something really well for herself and I’m really proud that she’s taken something that was very hurtful and help other kids through the same kind of situations.”

Jasmine has some lofty goals ahead of her. She intends to go to New York University and become a criminal investigator.
