IT ALSO LISTS A WEBSITE THAT DESCRIBES HOW AND WHERE YOU CAN GET THE PROCEDURE WITHIN THE STATE. IT HAS THE FEEL OF A POLITICAL STUNT. YOU KNOW, WE’RE WE’RE SO USED TO POLITICIANS USING, YOU KNOW, SPEECHES ON THE ON THE CAMPAIGN STUMP OR TWITTER OR TIK TOK IN THIS DAY AND AGE TO GET MESSAGES ACROSS, THERE’S SOMETHING ABOUT USING A BILLBOARD THAT HAS A SORT OF THROWBACK, RETRO FEEL TO IT. Oklahomans will soon see that on billboards along Oklahoma’s busiest roads, and the billboards were paid for by California’s governor.The advertisement will soon be seen on roadways in Oklahoma. The billboard reads, "Need an abortion? California is ready to help" and also lists a website that describes how and where you can get the procedure within the state."It has the feel of a political stunt, you know we're so used to politicians using speeches on the campaign stump, Twitter or TikTok, in this day age to get a message across, there’s something about using a billboard that has a retro feel to it," said professor Tyler Johnson, OU political science.The ads are paid for by Gov. Gavin Newsom’s re-election campaign. Newsom notified Oklahoma Gov. Kevin Stitt of the billboards through Twitter.KOCO 5 asked if something like this could help bolster Stitt’s campaign."There's sort of a double-edged sword, there are ways that this could be positive for Gov.
