Richmond, Va. (Newsradiowrva.com) - The Youngkin Administration has re-written the model transgender policy for public schools in the Commonwealth, and withdrawn the original model. In the purpose section of the new docuement, the Education Department says "the 2021 Model Policies promoted a specific viewpoint aimed at achieving cultural and social transformation in schools."

The document also says the original policy disregarded the rights of parents. The new policy also says school personnel should use pronouns consistent with a student's official record.

On Twitter, Delegate Marcus Simon (D-Fairfax) says the changes are cruel, and do not comply with the letter or spirit of law passed in 2020. He ends the tweet with "stop bullying kids to score political points."
