Street Cafe … Lakeland’s first Egyptian restaurant

Street Cafe, Lakeland’s first Egyptian restaurant, has now opened at 1023 E. County Rd. 540A. Try flavorful dishes like shawarma and bellah on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 11 a.m.-1:30 p.m.

Marianne Garas has opened up Street Cafe, a pop-up Egyptian kitchen, in a shared space on Tuesday with Charlie’s Mini Donuts & Coffee located at 1023 East County Road 540A. Its menu offers a sampling of dishes Garas said come from her family’s table. 

Those curious can order from Street Cafe on Tuesdays and Thursdays, from 11 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. The restaurant will be sharing space with Charlie’s Mini Donuts & Coffee, which will serve customers simultaneously. 

Shakshuka
Your choice of beef and lamb or chicken, warmly spiced with cracked eggs in a saucy tomato and onion base. Topped with yogurt sauce, cilantro and chives sprinkled with toasted sesame, served in a cast iron skillet with fresh pita bread. Also served without egg. Minced chicken

Individuals who are interested in ordering Street Cafe’s food for a larger group, meeting or take-out can call and place orders in advance.
