Fundraising efforts are under way for a former Aberdeen family who recently lost a child in a single-vehicle car crash.

The GoFundMe page is for the Ryan Martin family, which recently moved from Aberdeen to Ridgeview, which is in the Timber Lake area. Martin's 12-year-old daughter died in the Sept. 8 crash, according to a report from the Timber Lake Topic.

According to that report, Jacey Martin was with her two sisters who are 15 and 11. Both were injured in the crash and were flown to Sioux Falls for medical care.

The crash was shortly before 7 a.m. on Bureau of Indian Affairs Road 4, according to the Timber Lake Topic. The car was between Ridgeview and White Horse at the time.

The three attend school in Timber Lake and were on their way to the bus stop.

Funeral arrangements for Jayce Mae Martin are pending through Kesling Funeral Home, in Mobridge.

The Martin family this week expressed its gratitude to the surrounding communities and the Timber Lake School for the outpouring of support since the accident.

As of Tuesday, both girls remained in serious condition in the intensive care unit and are heavily sedated. As of Thursday afternoon, more than $27,000 has been contributed to the fund.
