Friday football schedule includes MH hosting Lake Hamilton

High school football dominates the local Friday schedule, and Mountain Home will return to the home turf for the first time since the season opener. The Bombers will welcome in Lake Hamilton to the Twin Lakes Area.

Mountain Home is currently 0-3 on the season and 0-1 in the 6A-West. The Bombers opened conference play last week with a loss at Greenwood. Lake Hamilton is ranked ninth overall and third in Class 6A by the Arkansas Sports Media. The Wolves are 3-0 and 1-0 following a 15-point win over Little Rock Christian.

Bombers’ head coach Steve Ary says the Wolves will try to line up and run over their opponents.

Friday will also be Military and First Responder Appreciation Night at Bomber Stadium. Prior to the game, first responders and military members (current or veteran) who registered will be treated to a meal in the high school cafeteria at 6. In addition, military members and first responders at the game will be recognized at halftime.

Kickoff is scheduled for 7. Friday’s game will be on Classic Hits 101.7 and streaming live at ktlo.com and on the Bomber Sports Network on YouTube and Facebook. Coverage begins around 5:30 with Electric Cooperatives of Arkansas High School Gameday.

Elsewhere in the 6A-West, Greenbrier travels to Van Buren, Russellville makes the trip to Little Rock to meet Christian, Siloam Springs hosts Greenwood. Pulaski Academy is idle this week.

Yellville-Summit will compete in its last nonconference game of the regular season. The Panthers will begin a two-game home stand by facing Mountainburg.

Yellville-Summit has a record of 3-0. The Panthers are coming off a mercy rule victory at Decatur.

Mountainburg is currently 1-1 on the year. The Dragons suffered a 30-point loss last week to Cedarville.

This is the second time this season Yellville-Summit will be facing a former conference foe from a year ago. Panthers’ head coach Justin Crain says there is a lot riding on this game.

Kickoff at Panther Field is set for 7.

Elsewhere on the local Arkansas schedule, Salem heads to Walnut Ridge, and Melbourne travels to Hoxie. The Bearkatz are currently ranked fifth in Class 3A by the Arkansas Sports Media. Harrison is idle this week.

On the eight-man level, Izard County makes the trip to Rector, Marshall heads to Subiaco Academy, and Mountain View travels to Rose Bud. The Yellowjackets are the top-ranked team in Classes 4A/3A.

Among the area schools in Missouri, West Plains makes the trip to Rolla, Hollister entertains Reeds Spring, Forsyth is home against Fair Grove, Branson heads to Nixa, Ava hosts Mountain View-Liberty, Willow Springs travels to Mountain Grove, and Thayer entertains Salem, Missouri.
