A man is dead in Collin County after being sold an illegal pill laced with fentanyl, according to reports.

Officials say on August 5th police found a 29-year-old man dead from an alleged overdose at his home in Princeton.

Officers were able to track down the alleged drug dealer, later identified as Gabriel Aldo Fossatti of Princeton, and arrested him. Police say they found even more drugs in Fossatti's house, including pills and mushrooms.

Collin County officials say the number of Fentanyl-related overdoses is skyrocketing and the Sheriff's Office says it's part of a plan by Mexican drug cartels to increase addiction among Americans.

In the past 3 years, drug related deaths have increased 571% in Collin County alone.
