Laurel County man arrested for burglary, assault on nurse

LAUREL COUNTY, Ky. (FOX 56) — The Laurel County Sheriff’s office recently took a man into custody after he allegedly assaulted a female victim, and then later a nurse at the hospital.

The police report stated that 28-year-old Daniel K. Boggs of Keavy was arrested Monday evening after deputies were dispatched to a complaint that he had allegedly forced entry into a residence, broken several doors inside the home, as well as multiple items including a car’s windshield outside.

Police continue that Boggs then allegedly assaulted a female subject multiple times in the head, strangling her and yelling that he was going to kill her. When deputies arrived on the scene, the suspect attempted to flee on foot and was told to stop multiple times but failed to do so.

Boggs was transported to a local hospital where he reportedly became irate — fighting and kicking the nursing staff and deputies in the emergency room before being restrained.

Upon release, Boggs was lodged in the Laurel County correctional center and charged with burglary, assault, strangulation, fleeing or evading police on foot; assault on a police officer, and EMS.
