Who knew that Worthington, Ohio, was such a desirable place to live?

The northern suburb of Columbus in Franklin County made the top 10 list for Realtor.com's recently released Hottest ZIP Codes report.

Eight of the top 10 ZIP codes are found in the Northeast. Worthington was ranked third overall and was the only one in Ohio. The only other ZIP code outside the Northeast was located in Tennessee.

Worthington's median home price was $467,000, and homes spent an average of seven days on the market, the report said.

One region of the U.S. not appearing on the list? The West, where Realtor.com said concerns of affordability have "pushed buyer interest elsewhere."

According to the report, homes on the list had median square footage of 1,946, about 60 square feet more than the typical home for sale nationwide.

The annual list is based on Realtor.com's economic team analyzing 29,000 ZIP codes across the U.S. where homes are selling the fastest and getting the most views on its site. Eligible ZIP codes had at least 13 active listings each month to calculate its ranking and were limited to one ZIP code per metro area.

Here's which ZIP codes made the list:

  1. 14618 Brighton, N.Y.
  2. 03062 Nashua, N.H.
  3. 43085 Worthington, Ohio.
