Sheriff’s office: Duo arrested after attempted murder in Knox County

BARBOURVILLE, Ky. (FOX 56) – A Knox County duo were arrested Monday and charged with unlawful imprisonment and attempted murder.

In a news release, the Knox County Sheriff’s Department said 26-year-old William Hubbard, from Barbourville, and 44-year-old Alice Honeycutt, from Flat Lick, held a man against his will in his own vehicle on Kentucky Highway 223 on Sunday.

Police said they received a complaint around 1:43 a.m., and a Knox County deputy reported that the victim was hit in the head multiple time with brass knuckles and threatened with a knife.

“…the victim was told he was going to be killed,” read the report.

The sheriff’s office said the victim was taken to the hospital for his injuries, but his condition is unknown.

Honeycutt was charged with first-degree assault, first-degree unlawful imprisonment, first-degree attempted murder, a first offense for cultivating marijuana, and a first offense for prescription controlled substance not in a proper container.

Hubbard was charged with first-degree assault, first-degree unlawful imprisonment, first-degree attempted murder, a first offense for cultivating marijuana, and a first offense for prescription controlled substance not in a proper container.

Both Honeycutt and Hubbard were booked into the Knox County Detention Center around 4:30 p.m. Monday.
