MOUNT VERNON, Ky. (FOX 56) — Kentucky State Police have located and arrested an individual allegedly responsible for a January armed robbery in Mt. Vernon.
An original press release by Kentucky State Police on Jan. 31 said 45-year-old Woodrow Lamb entered a residence in Mt. Vernon the day prior, shot and robbed 66-year-old Damien Madden, and fled the scene.
Madden was taken to the Rockcastle Regional Hospital and was treated for non-life injuries.
Authorities said Lamb was on the run since the incident until he was located by troopers in the Livingston Community of Rockcastle County on Monday.
Police told FOX 56 that Lamb had eluded authorities by hiding out in heavily wooded areas and caves in the Mt. Vernon area. He was located in the woods after a trooper checked the residence of his girlfriend on Monday.
Lamb is lodged in the Rockcastle County Detention Center and has been charged with the following:
- Five counts of first-degree robbery
- Four counts of possession of a handgun by a convicted felon
- Two counts of first-degree burglary
- One count of first-degree assault
- One count of second-degree assault
