Surreal Creamery will soon offer unique ice cream and bubble tea flavors to those looking for a sweet treat in The Woodlands. Prince Eti and his daughter, Anita Eti, are bringing the franchise to the Houston area. They have been interviewing potential contractors and hope to open Surreal Creamery at 1500 Research Forest Dr., Ste. 170 in The Woodlands in early December.

“We’re so excited for it,” Anita said. “I think this is a really unique concept because obviously boba and bubble tea is so popular now and in Texas, when can you go wrong with ice cream? So, we’re very excited to bring it to people here.”

Surreal Creamery has some signature items on the menu. “A Flotea, which is basically bubble tea and soft-serve ice cream, and then you can also add boba to it. Then, there’s also the Mason Jar, which is a really cool concept, I think, because you can take the mason jar with you and the toppings look really cool,” Anita said.

A variety of different soft-serve flavors including classics such as vanilla, chocolate, and strawberry, plus Asian-inspired and coffee and tea-inspired flavors are offered. Diners can choose from more than 20 toppings and enjoy their flavor combinations in a cup, cone, or a mason jar.

Anita enjoys the passion fruit slushie with the popping boba, and her father enjoys the Thai iced tea. Anita is excited to start this project with her father. “I think it will be a really great time, a bonding experience, but also really awesome to bring this concept that means so much to us to The Woodlands,” Anita shared.

“This will be an opportunity to bond and do things together. I think I’m bringing in my experience. She’s bringing in her energy,” Prince said.

One reason they selected the Surreal Creamery franchise is because of Anita’s mother. “Growing up, my mom never ate sugar around me,” Anita shared, “but when we went and had this ice cream, she was so amazed, and she just really loved it.” Anita told What Now Houston that if the Surreal Creamery was good enough to make her mother eat ice cream, which she had never experienced before, “it’s something that I feel like a lot of people will appreciate.”

Surreal Creamery currently operates in four states—New York, New Jersey, Pennsylvania, and Delaware. The first Surreal Creamery Texas location is expected to open in Dallas this fall.

The Woodlands location will be the first in the Houston area. “We’re looking forward to expanding the concept around the Houston area,” Prince said. Sugar Land could be next on the expansion for Surreal Creamery.
