Voters in Carroll and Boone counties will be deciding between three candidates to represent them in the State House.

moving out to your commitment 2022 coverage candidates for House District six are holding *** meet and greet tonight in Eureka Springs 40 29 martin. Larmore joins us now in the newsroom with more on the three candidates martin. Yeah, that's right. District six was formerly known as District 97 before the state districts were redrawn earlier this year and it does include most of carroll county and also parts of Boone County as well. There are three candidates running for this seat. First is incumbent Republican Representative Harlan bro bro, is currently serving his second term and is *** Navy veteran. Next libertarian candidate, Dakota Logan, Logan is *** father of two and works as *** mechanic. Last is democrat, Marquita tucker tucker is 1/5 generation Arkansan who worked for 25 years in hospitality. Here's why the candidates say that they're qualified to be the next state representative in District six I'm running because I feel like I've done several things and that really made things better for my district and my state and I can mention *** few, I'm planning on doing more and I've helped *** lot of people and that's what I really feel good about. I am running to give people *** third option uh to be represented in our state legislature and the main qualification to be representative is someone who is willing to listen and talk to everybody and represent the entire district. I do come from small farmers and small business owners. So, um, and you know, I, I just want to see our farming to come back And people be able to afford to take care of their families. Tonight. All three candidates of that area will be at got ahold brewing in Eureka Springs from 530 to 630 to meet with voters and answer questions. Each candidate will also have around 10 minutes to share their policy positions.

Voters in Carroll and Boone counties will be deciding between three candidates to represent them in the State House.

The general election is rapidly approaching, and with less than two months left before Election Day, candidates for District 6 are getting with voters to see what matters most to them. District 6 covers most of Carroll and Boone counties and was formerly known as District 97 before redistricting earlier this year.So all three candidates, Republican incumbent Harlan Breaux, Democrat Markeeta Tucker, and Independent Dakota Logan, will be talking with voters and sharing their policy positions at Gotahold Brewing in Eureka Springs at 5:30 p.m. Monday, Sept. 12Breaux is serving his second term and says his main goal is to lower taxes and his experience makes him the best for the seat.“I’m running because I feel like I've done several things and that really make things better for my district." Says Breaux. "My state, and I can mention a few. I'm planning on doing more, and I've helped a lot of people, and that's what I really feel good about.”Tucker and her family have been in Arkansas for decades, she is a fifth-generation Arkansan and worked 25 years in hospitality. She wants to bring recreational marijuana to the Natural State and believes her roots make her the best for representing the area.“I do come from small farmers and small business owners. So and you know, I just want to see our farming come back and people be able to afford to take care of their families. We're not so sufficient anymore as a country, let alone as a state," stated Tucker.Finally, Logan is a father of two and a mechanic, and he believes the main two parties don't represent a large amount of the population and wants to give Arkansans another choice.“I am running to give people a third option to be represented in our state legislature, and the main qualification to be the representative is someone who is willing to listen and talk to everybody and represent the entire district," explained Logan.The general election will be on Nov. 8, and the winner will represent the district for the next two years.
