Complete Box Score and Stats

Bishop Miege wasted no time in its Friday matchup with Blue Valley Southwest, dropping the Timberwolves 42-0 on the back of a 35-point first half.

The Stags stalled on their first drive of the game after failing to convert a fourth down with one yard to gain. Their defense made up for the early jitters and forced a punt minutes later, setting the offense up for a one-play 76-yard scoring play as quarterback Mac Armstrong connected with receiver Tommy Wright to open the scoring.

The Timberwolves moved into Miege territory on their next drive but stalled out soon after and were forced to punt

Armstrong opened the drive with a 42-yard completion to Teryn Jackson, then found Wright for 11 yards, and later capped the drive with a 12-yard touchdown run to push the Stags’ lead to 14-0.

Miege put together a final first-quarter scoring drive as Armstrong completed four consecutive passes and DeAndre Beasley punched in his first touch of the game from two yards out.

The Stags continued to build on their 21-0 lead in the second quarter as David Garcia got in on the scoring with a three-yard run to push the lead to 28-0.

Armstrong picked apart the Timberwolve’s defense on Miege’s final drive of the half, completing five passes for 71 yards and finding Wright for their second scoring connection of the game to give the Stags a 35-0 halftime lead.

Blue Valley Southwest struggled to build any momentum in the second half, going three-and-out on the opening drive.

Miege stuck to the pass-first mentality it had maintained the entire game and it resulted in a 12-play, 60-yard drive that saw Armstrong connect with Daegan Jensen from 20-yards out to put the Stags up 42-0.

Armstrong finished with a stellar passing line of 22 completions on 25 attempts for 431 yards and three touchdowns. The Stags’ pass catchers were busy with seven receivers recording receptions. Isaiah Coppage led the way despite not getting into the end zone, grabbing seven passes for 107 yards. Wright was second on the team with four catches for 95 yards and two scores. Garcia led the team in rushing with 88 yards on 10 carries.

Timberwolves quarterback Dylan Dunn notched eight completions on 13 attempts for 51 yards. Connor Falkner led the way in rushing with 47 yards on 17 carries. Alex Park topped the pass catchers with two receptions for 19 yards.

Blue Valley Southwest (0-2) will host Blue Valley West (1-1) Friday. The Jaguars are coming off their first win of the season in a 38-7 domination of Blue Valley North.

Bishop Miege (2-0) will hit the road to face St. James Academy (0-2) Friday. The Thunder will be looking for their first win of the season after a tough 42-28 loss to Blue Valley in Week 2.
