SIOUX CITY, Iowa (KCAU) — It’s another chilly day across Siouxland this afternoon with a mix of sunshine and cloudiness. Temperatures this afternoon have only climbed into the mid/upper 40s and low 50s with windy conditions as northwesterly winds gust as high as 35 mph. Those winds have dropped wind chills into the upper 30s and low 40s.
Expecting a clear and breezy night tonight with lows falling below freezing once again. Freeze Warnings have once again been issued through parts of Siouxland through our Saturday morning with temperatures overnight expected to fall back into the upper 20s and low 30s.
Unprotected crops and other plants/vegetation could be killed so be sure to cover up any of that sensitive vegetation and/or bring those smaller plants inside for the night.
Remaining in the low 50s for our Saturday with breezy conditions continuing with a bit more sunshine starting to return ahead of another frosty night into Sunday.
Warmer to wrap up the weekend with highs back in the low 60s with abundant sunshine. Lows mush milder into Monday morning, only falling into the upper 30s/low 40s.
Warmer still into out Monday with highs into the upper 60s, nearing 70°. The tradeoff is a bit of added cloud cover once again and potentially a stray shower or two and breezy conditions.
Mostly sunny and cooler once again past Monday with highs back into the low/mid 60s through the end of the week.
More shower chances return as early as Wednesday night. Seeing those rain and potentially storm chances with us through the end of the week both Thursday and Friday as temperatures warm into the mid and upper 60s heading into the weekend.
Possibly seeing some showers/storms carry over into early Saturday before things start to dry out through the day next Saturday with highs in the upper 60s and low 70s.
More showers and storms look to arrive late Saturday and into early Sunday though. Highs next Sunday look to remain in the upper 60s.
