SIOUX CITY, Iowa (KCAU) — A sunny and seasonal day for this Friday as we close out a very rainy and unsettled week. Temperatures so far have climbed into the mid/upper 60s so far this afternoon.

Showers and storm chances are once again on the rise tonight, mainly after 9pm and through early Saturday morning. Rainfall totals range from a quarter to half an inch to the northwest to as much as half an inch to an inch to the south and east. Severe weather threat is minimal with just a marginal risk for areas south of West Point to Denison. Damaging winds and large hail would be the threats with any stronger/severe storms through tomorrow morning in those areas. Lows drop into the 40s.

Showers and storms move out by Saturday morning and we see skies begin to clear. Highs top out just a touch cooler in the 60s. A seasonal day with great weather after those early showers/storms. Looking great for the opening of the Sioux City Farmer’s Market.

Warmer again for Sunday and sunny with highs in the upper 60s to around 70°.

Another round of shower and storm potential arrives as we head into Monday that could pose the risk of severe weather especially through southwest Siouxland. Monday looks to be the warmest day of the extended forecast with highs into the 70s. Behind that, looking to settle things down and with a sunnier and quieter stretch of weather. Looking cooler though with highs into the 60s with plenty of sunshine making a return Tuesday through Saturday as we finally begin to dry out again across Siouxland after a soggy end to April and open to the month of May.
