Summary:
The Hive is buzzing up on Timberlake Road again, as coach Jon Meek’s Bees look and sound determined to make another deep run in the tough Seminole District. 13 Starters are back, with many eyes not on the skill positions, but in the trenches. The Bees’ offensive line comes stacked with seniors, most of whom have started for all four years, and run like a well oiled machine. That’s not to say there isn’t experience and talent at those skill slots. QB Drake McDaniel is experienced with a big arm, and has a bigger backfield, including Micah Pennix, who figures to be a battering ram at fullback. Numbers are slightly down, but the Bees’ increased focus on weight training, individual strength, and injury prevention have the players feeling bigger and stronger. Assuming they can remain healthy, Brookville is set up to take the sting out of a lot of opponents this fall.
