Spartanburg area high school football roundup, Week 0: Byrnes and Dorman win openers

Here is a look at what happened in Week 0 of the SCHSL football season in the Spartanburg area:

Byrnes 62, Brookland-Cayce 7: Colby Shaw threw for 318 yards and three touchdowns on 17-of-25 attempts for Byrnes (1-0). Kyai Cook had nine catches for 110 yards and two touchdowns, and RJ Livingston rushed for 71 yards on eight carries and a touchdown. On defense, LB Miquel Dingle led Byrnes with 8.5 tackles, 2.5 tackles for loss and a sack.

Dorman 53, Greenville 28: Running back Demarius Foster led the Dorman offense with 306 yards rushing and three touchdowns on 20 carries. Quarterback Hudson Talley on a 5-of-9 outing threw for 125 yards and two touchdowns. Defensive back Jonathan Frazier led Dorman with 14 tackles and added 1.5 tackles for loss, while defensive lineman Dyquan Nesbitt recorded two sacks and a forced fumble.

Woodruff 13, Chapman 7: In a defensive battle, Woodruff quarterback Carson Tucker threw a TD pass to receiver DJ Nash in overtime to defeat county rival Chapman.

T.L. Hanna 43, Boiling Springs 0: In new coach Matt Reel's first game in charge of the Bulldogs, they fell to Anderson County powerhouse TL Hanna.
