A Troy man has been sentenced to 35 years followed by 5 years of post-release supervision, as a Violent Predicate Felon for a deadly stabbing that happened last May in Albany.

Jhajuan Sabb, 22, of Troy pleaded guilty to one Count of Manslaughter in the First Degree, and one Count of Attempted Assault in the First Degree.

That plea satisfies the initial charges in the indictment, which included two Counts of Murder in the Second Degree, four Counts of Attempted Assault First Degree, and one Count of Criminal Possession of a Weapon in the Second Degree.

Four people were hurt and one man Sharaf Addailam was killed.

Assistant District Attorney Jessica Blain-Lewis said:

It’s an incredibly scary prospect when you are thinking about this case, and when it happened. It was 2:34 in the afternoon when this car drove through a residential area that was full of children, women with strollers, school buses were going by, and Sharaf Addailam was walking to work. And to see something like this happen, in such a brazen fashion, in the middle of the afternoon, and have no comprehension or even care for what you are doing to the people in that area, is incredibly scary.”
