I-77 ramp closures in Coventry Township to impact drivers Friday, Saturday

The Dart Avenue exit on I-76 west/I77 north is scheduled to close Monday through late September. One lane of the westbound lane of traffic, seen in the center with concrete walls on either side, is currently diverted onto the eastbound side of the highway.

Two detours that had been set for earlier this month on Interstate 77 in Coventry Township are taking place Friday and Saturday, when motorists planning to head north on I-77 will be detoured around construction, as work crews will be placing a bridge beam at the I-77/I-277, U.S. 224 interchange.

I-77 northbound lanes at the interchange will close Friday and Saturday from 10 p.m. to 7 a.m. the next day. Traffic heading north on I-77 will be detoured onto U.S. 224 east, to Kelly Avenue, then back onto U.S. 224 west toward the I-77 northbound ramp.

Akron:Akron highway construction season is drawing to a close

On Monday, the ramp from U.S. 224 west to I-77 south closed through late September. The detour will be I-277 west to Main Street, to I-277 east back to I-77 south.

In Akron, the Dart Avenue exit on I-76/I-77 is also closed through late September. The detour will be Main Street to Thornton Street to Dart Avenue.
