Cleveland Division of Police: Body found in Cleveland resident's yard

Preliminary investigations say a 'citizen reported hearing an argument and then several shots fired during the night.'

CLEVELAND — An investigation is underway after a Cleveland resident found the body of a 41-year-old man victim in his yard on Thursday morning.

According to the Cleveland Division of Police, a body with a bloody shirt and gunshot wounds was found lying in a yard on the 3700 block of Walton Avenue at around 8:15 a.m. 

EMS officials declared the man dead on the scene. The victim's identity has not been released at this time. 

Preliminary investigations say a "citizen reported hearing an argument and then several shots fired during the night," said Cleveland Division of Police officials in a press release. 

Members of the Homicide Unit assisted on the scene with investigating. 

At this time, no suspects have been identified, and the investigation is ongoing. 

Investigators are asking anyone with information to call them at 216-623-5464. Anyone wishing to report an anonymous tip can call Crimestoppers at 216-25-CRIME. A reward of up to $5,000 may be available.
