The Johnston building at the corner of Main and Mill streets in downtown Woodstock is available for lease after two restaurants there closed, according to a listing for the space.
The multi-level restaurant, bar and lounge, located at 8634 Main St., has been listed for lease by Atlanta-based The Shumacher Group.
PUBLIC Woodstock was on the ground level, and Main and Mill was on the second story.
The owner of the restaurants, Justin Balmes, declined to comment.
The restaurants were only open one month, said Steven Josovitz, vice president of The Shumacher Group.
The building features a main level consisting of 3,700 square feet, a second level also consisting of 3,700 square feet and a 2,400 square foot unfinished basement, according to the listing. There is also a full-size elevator.
Assets from the previous tenant are for sale for $2.2 million, the listing shows.
“This is an asset sale of the furniture, fixtures and equipment of the tenant who owns the business in the building, with the rights for the buyer and the new tenant to negotiate a transfer of the lease,” Josovitz said.
The rent is $20,825 monthly including all extras, with a 10-year lease and a five-year option to renew, according to the listing.
The facility was built in 2019 to replace a 1909 structure there.
The historic Johnston building was demolished in 2018 and rebuilt after initial plans to renovate it revealed issues of structural integrity. The decision was a joint one with the building owner Smith Johnston, city officials and contractors.
