Woman's body recovered from the Ohio River, Louisville police say

A woman's body was retrieved from the Ohio River Friday morning, according to Louisville Metro Police Department.

First Division officers responded to a call at 11:30 a.m. about a body found in the Ohio River near Sixth Street on River Road, Louisville Metro Police spokesperson Dwight Mitchel said. Louisville Fire and Rescue retrieved the body of an adult woman from the river and pronounced her dead at the scene.

Mitchell said they do not suspect foul play.

The identity of the victim has not been disclosed. The Louisville Metro Police Homicide Unit is investigating.
