'Picture This': Local photographers' works at Wood Library

Staff Reports

CANANDAIGUA — The Creative Imagers Camera Club members will display their works in "Picture This 2022: A Photographic Display" at the Community Room of the Wood Library, starting Aug. 21 and continuing until Sept. 30.

The Creative Imagers of Canandaigua all have unique styles, and this will be apparent in the wide variety of subjects and approaches.

A photographers reception and public presentation on photography techniques will be held from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 25, at the library, 134 N. Main St., Canandaigua. This reception is free and open to the public. Refreshments will be served.

The club has been meeting in Canandaigua once every month to share photos, learn about cameras, study many photographic techniques and post-processing skills, and encourage one another. Guest speakers as well as presenters from within the club are often scheduled and members will often work on a theme and then share for light-hearted critiquing.

Projects have included summer scavenger hunts for photos and Scrabble photo searches. Members have entered competitions in and around the Finger Lakes, Adirondacks and Thousand Islands and some have placed in several competitions. Field trips have been made to many places, including the Artisan Works; Buffalo, Syracuse and Seneca Park zoos; Onondaga Lake Audubon Center; and Sonnenberg Gardens.
