Police: Nurse's aide accused of stealing retirement home resident's credit cards
A nurse's aide has been arrested after police said she stole a retirement home resident's credit cards and made several transactions.
Delhi police said the family of an elderly woman called them Monday about the potential theft of a credit card.
Police said the family of an elderly woman living at Western Hills Retirement Village home had several transactions on three different credit and debit cards from the month before.
Delhi investigators later discovered footage and identified a nurse's aide as the person responsible for the theft.
Police said the aide, identified as Lavonda Moran, was questioned and admitted to the offense. She was arrested and taken to the Hamilton County Justice Center on two felony charges.
Police said the nurse's aide wasn't an employee of the retirement home but was sent there by an outside agency to help with staffing.
Police said the retirement home has been cooperative and is working with law enforcement.
Police are also reminding families that if they have a loved one at a hospital or nursing facility, to make sure valuables are not visible and to limit the amount of cash or credit cards on hand.
