JAMES RAY “JIMMY’’ HILL JR.

James Ray Hill Jr. “Jimmy,’’ 50, of Corpus Christi, Texas, formerly of Lebanon, died Aug. 7, 2022, in Corpus Christi, Texas.

He was born July 15, 1972, in Portland, Ore. to Greg McBride and Carolyn Massey.

On Aug. 16, 2020, he married Elizabeth Ricks in Lake Ozark, Mo.

Jimmy grew up in Lebanon and graduated from Lebanon High School in 1990. He did construction for many years and ran crews that framed houses. In between construction jobs, he began guiding hunts. He turned that love of hunting into a business. An avid hunter and fisherman, his guiding service has evolved from High Definition Outfitters to JH Outdoors, Sportsman’s Edge and most recently Elusive Swine and Time. He worked with Hunter Specialities as a pro staff member and as a guide.

He is survived by his wife Elizabeth Hill of Plato; daughter, Hunter (Hill) Waters, her husband and three children of Springfield; daughter, Journey Hill of Strafford; stepson, Dillon Turner off Strafford; mother, Carolyn Martin of Ozark; sister, Shannon (Hill) Hunt and her husband and five children of Weatherford, Texas; brother, Matthew Martin and his wife of Kalamazoo, Mich.; tons of uncles, cousins, and good friends.

Funeral services for Jimmy Ray Hill Jr. will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 20, 2022, at Shadel’s Colonial Chapel with the Rev. David Douglas officiating.

Burial will be in McBride Cemetery under the direction of Shadel’s Colonial Chapel of Lebanon.

Visitation will be from noon until service time Saturday at Shadel’s Colonial Chapel.
