2 People Charged in Murder of Evansville Firefighter

EVANSVILLE, Ind. — Two people have been charged in Vanderburgh County in the 2019 murder of an Evansville firefighter.

Robert Doerr spent more than 30 years working with the Evansville Fire Department.

Following the shooting death of Robert Doerr, Elizabeth Fox-Doerr and Larry Richmond, Sr. now face counts of murder and conspiracy to commit murder. Doerr was found in the driveway of his home in February of 2019.

Elizabeth Fox-Doerr and Richmond both deleted information from their phones after they talked on the phone for more than 5 minutes before Doerr’s death.

Richmond is serving a federal prison sentence  on gun charges currently. He admitted having an affair with Fox-Duerr, whose sister was his fiancée, and also discussed the murder with a fellow prison inmate.

Also,  ElizabethFox-Duerr has been in jail since July, after prosecutors filed perjury charges against her claiming she lied to a grand jury investigating her husband’s death.
