PEORIA, Ill. — There has been at least $5,300 raised as part of this year’s “Cop On Top” fundraising event meant to benefit Special Olympics Illinois.
Collections have been announced to WMBD News by Washington Police, which totaled $2,3335.71, according to chief Mike McCoy.
25 News has reported the fundraising total for Peoria Police adds up to at least $3,000.
Police from Peoria, Pekin, Morton and Washington took donations benefitting Illinois Special Olympics through noon Friday.
Over the past 19 years, Illinois officers have raised over $6.7 million for Special Olympics with “Cop On Top” and the Illinois Law Enforcement Torch Run for Special Olympics.
