One person was injured when an SUV and a commercial vehicle collided Wednesday afternoon in Clearwater Township.
The Wright County Sheriff’s Office reports the crash happened around 5 PM near the intersection of Wright County Road 7 Northwest and 160th Street Northwest.
When deputies arrived on the scene, they found the Toyota SUV in the east ditch of County Road 7 with severe damage to the left side of the vehicle. Officers also found an Isuzu commercial vehicle that was towing a wood chipper in the west ditch of the county road.
From evidence gathered at the scene as well as from witness statements, authorities determined that the SUV had stopped at the stop sign after being westbound on 160th Street. The vehicle then apparently pulled out onto County Road 7 in front of the commercial vehicle that was northbound.
The driver of the SUV, 60-year-old Pollyann Grell of St. Cloud sustained non-life threatening injuries and was transported to the St. Cloud Hospital. The driver of the Isuzu truck, 20-year-old Broderick Bement of Waubun, Minnesota, was not injured.
The Clearwater Fire Department and Allina Ambulance assisted the Wright County Sheriff’s Office.
