Pasco building inspector drives county work truck to rob pharmacy, Police say

PASCO COUNTY, FLA - A Pasco County employee that worked as a building inspector was arrested on Monday after he reportedly robbed a Target pharmacy and drove off in a Pasco County work truck. 

According to a Pasco County Sheriff affidavit, detectives responded to the Target Pharmacy on Dale Mabry Hwy in Lutz. Video surveillance showed a man later identified as 51-year-old Shon Kriel committing the robbery and was observed leaving the business in a Pasco County work vehicle. 

The pharmacist stated, Kriel approached the counter and stated, "I'm sorry to do this to you, but I need all your Oxy 30's" Kriel then stated, "I have a gun" The pharmacist was in fear that he may be armed and provided him with one unopened bottle of oxycodone tablets. 

Sheriff deputies learned through GPS tracking that Kriel traveled in his county work truck from his home to the target store to commit the robbery and then traveled back home. During a search, they found oxycodone and a cut plastic straw with white residue in the vehicle. 

Kriel was transported to the Pasco County jail on charges of Robbery with No Weapon, Trafficking in Oxycodone and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia.
