We are seeing a sharp rise in the numbers of mosquitos carrying the
West Nile virus. That is especially the case in Fairfield and New Haven
counties, says Doctor Philip Armstrong of the Connecticut Agricultural Experiment
Station. The CAES counts 17 Connecticut municipalities where mosquitos have
tested positive for West Nile. Although there are no human cases of the disease,
the CAES says caution should be taken -- by wearing repellant and covering bare skin.
Last year, six Connecticut residents came down with West Nile. All six recovered.
