Syracuse, N.Y. — A man was shot in the back Thursday night on Midland Avenue in Syracuse, police said.
The shooting was reported at about 11:18 p.m. in the 2600 block of Midland Avenue, according to the Onondaga County 911 Center dispatches.
Shortly after, police received reports that a 24-year-old man with a gunshot wound to the back had arrived at Upstate University Hospital in a private vehicle, according to a news release from Syracuse police.
The investigation revealed he was shot near the intersection of West Ostrander Avenue and Midland Avenue, police said.
The man is expected to survive, police said.
Police officers said they found multiple bullet casings outside a corner store on Midland Avenue.
The city’s shotspotter system picked up 11 rounds, dispatchers said.
