Four more Las Vegas valley public schools are set to receive emergency security upgrades.
The upgrades are listed on the agenda for the Clark County School District board of trustees meeting on Thursday, Aug. 25.
Basic Academy is due to receive upgrades worth about $1.36 million, per documents attached to the agenda.
Chaparral High School would receive $1.12 million in upgrades, while Western High School would get upgrades worth $1.13 million and Bonanza High School nearly $752,000.
Work at all four schools would increase the number of security cameras, provide for a controlled single-point entry system and add fencing
The documents state the upgrades are in response to "recent nationwide events."
They're included under the "information" portion of the board meeting's agenda, meaning no vote is needed from trustees.
CCSD has approved emergency security updates at several other Las Vegas public schools recently, most notably $26 million for Eldorado High School.
