Don’t fret – summer is not over yet.

Although the calendar may say late August, there is still plenty of family–friendly summer entertainment to go in Sea Isle City.

Families enjoying their late summer vacations will have their pick of events and activities at Excursion Park and throughout the city, many of which are free.

“Our weekly summer events run until Labor Day weekend, so people still have time to enjoy our concerts and family-friendly activities at Excursion Park as well as the beachcomber tours and the Chamber of Commerce’s weekly Farmers Market,” explained Sea Isle City Public Information Officer Katherine Custer.

On Monday nights, families can gather for Family Fun Night, where there is a host of different activities each week. Favorite kids’ movies are shown Wednesday evenings in the free popular event, Movies Under the Stars.

For daytime activities, visitors can head over the Farmers Market on Tuesdays for some locally grown, Jersey Fresh vegetables and fruits and other goodies.

Children and adults get a lesson in marine life with a Beachcombing Tour. The 10 a.m. tours are given at 29th Street on Tuesdays and 94th Street on Thursdays and always attract a lot of participants.

During the beachcombing tours, children and adults will get a fun education on the barrier island and its marine life. Then the beachcombers go out in search of some interesting shells and marine life to bring back to show their family and beachcombing guides.

Custer noted that while the summer weeks are waning, Sea Isle is still a terrific community to enjoy in the fall.

“Of course, autumn is a fantastic time to be in Sea Isle City,” she pointed out. “Not only is the weather beautiful in September and October, but we also have events each fall that people love — so, there’s no need to worry about the summer season ending because the fun continues all year in Sea Isle.”

The Beachcombing Tours give kids an adventure on the city beaches.
