A student at Salmen High School in Slidell faces charges of bringing a gun to school. Slidell police arrested the 15-year-old Thursday.
"Shortly after 8:00am, a school resource officer, assigned to Salmen High School, was alerted about a student who was observed brandishing a firearm on school grounds," said Slidell Police spokesman Daniel Seuzeneau. "The student was quickly located, at which time, the school resource officer located a loaded 9mm pistol concealed in the teen’s waistband."
Officers booked the teen into the Florida Parishes Juvenile detention center. The student is charges with illegal carrying of a weapon on school property.
