St. Louis FBI office is hiring

There's an effort to recruit diverse candidates, and those with backgrounds in foreign languages, STEM, accounting, and law are especially encouraged to apply.

ST. LOUIS — An opportunity we only hear about a few times a year: The FBI is hiring.

And there's an effort to recruit diverse candidates.

According to Special Agent in Charge Jay Greenberg of the FBI St. Louis Division, “the FBI needs a cadre of special agents who represent diverse cultures, perspectives, and professional backgrounds. Special agents bring their skills, compassion, and integrity to stay ahead of threats, uphold the law, defend civil rights, and protect innocent people."

You do have to be a U.S. citizen and at least 23 years old.

Those with backgrounds in foreign languages, STEM, accounting, and law are especially encouraged to apply.

To qualify for the special agent position, you must also:

  • Apply before your 36th birthday unless you have veteran's preference or federal law enforcement experience
  • Possess a valid driver's license
  • Have a bachelor's degree and at least two years of full-time professional work experience or have an advanced degree and at least one year of full-time professional work experience
  • Meet physical fitness requirements
  • Be able to obtain a Top Secret Sensitive Compartmented Information (SCI) Clearance
  • Meet all other FBI Eligibility requirements.
