Tastes of the Fair Tuesday

LIMA — The Allen County Fair is a time for people to indulge in one of summer’s greatest offerings: fair food. You must remember that calories in fair food don’t count. The walk down the midway offers various and wondrous aromas to entice your taste buds — from the savory Cattleman’s rib-eye sandwich and Italian and Polish sausage sandwiches to the sweet treats of elephant ears and ice cream and beverages of iced tea or lemonade. There is always something at the Allen County Fair for everyone to enjoy.

On Tuesday, from 12:00 to 8:00 p.m. visitors will have the opportunity to take on as much as their stomachs and wallets can handle, with the ‘Taste of the Fair’ event, where participating vendors will offer samples at reduced prices, giving people a chance to enjoy as many stands as possible, without breaking the bank.

J & M Homemade Ice Cream began in the late 1990’s. The current owners have been working events since 2013 and bought the business in 2016. J & M Homemade Ice Cream features 12 to 13 flavors. Their special for “Taste of the Fair” will be a three dip sampler. You can get any three flavors for $4.

Vendors use the event to draw in customers, and hopefully bring them back later to get a full plate. and to recommend their bill of fare to their friends.
